Hello all. Just swapped to aluminum heads on my 440 in my duster and was trying to figure out what to set the valve lash at cold for initial start-up. I was thinking around .018 on both? Is this too tight or too loose? Thanks.

I think i tightened the lash up .004 I/E cold on my old big block 65 Plymouth. But I will have to ask Jason Jones to make sure.I take it you finally got the headers to clear with your new heads.when you taking it to the track? Mopar65

Set the lash .006" tighter than what it should be hot. Once the head grows then it should be at normal hot setting.
