The ECM on my 97 Dakota is going bad, cutting out, hard starting and such. Getting an error code for Primary Coil Driver and local shop diagnosed as a bad ECM. They quoted me about $700 to replace. I found a couple sources online and even Amazon offering them for closer to $200. I know the VIN and mileage need flashed. Does anyone have any experience with buying an ECM replacement?

Check around your area. I found a local place that sells them refurbished for $175 with VIN flash. Stay away from the ones done in Florida as they are not good.
