The Optima in my Dodge truck is 10 years old and used to power the race car when I didn't use a alternator.

I have them in everything reds and yellows no problems to get 5-6 years. Like we covered in another post, if you need to charge it MAKE sure you use a smart AGM charger or you will kill the battery and your charger

don't buy ,,, buy odyssey instead
i agree, old ones were good, new ones bite. decka or sears high end one will work fine.
From everything I've seen and heard, Sears Platinum DieHards are relabeled Odyssey batteries! I've had one in my race car for a couple of years so far with no issues.

the one in my truck is over 7 years old and I have completely drained the batteries probably 30 times ( dummy leaving the lights on) and charge it up and fires every time. I drive the truck maybe once a month and every time I get in it fires right up. Have two brand new ones one for the new car and one for the truck or my little blazer I drive every day.
Back in the swing of things at Painless again! Great to be back!

I have a question for you guys...in a drag race only application....red tops or yellow tops?
I've seen a couple NHRA Stockers with the D51 yellow-tops, but they use 2 of them. I only use 1 battery with an alternator at the moment.
if you run an alternator use a red top. if not yellow

I just replaced my Walmart Maxx EverStart with a new one yesterday. I ran it for 5 years and they still gave me $39.00 credit on the new one. I am not sure there was anything wrong with the old one, I battery was dead when I got ready to leave T&T last Thursday so I thought I would go ahead and get a new one. I think my stock alternator just wiil not get the job done since I upgraded to a electric fuel pump.
