What has anyone found that will take gasoline stains from an edelbrock aluminum intake?

Are you looking for a chemical type cleaner?
I've had crappy luck with what I've tried. Everything so far has resulted in making the aluminum darker. I wonder if Ajax/Comet and a wire brush would work. maybe mix some bleach with the cleanser and water?

Spray nine works pretty good on grease stains.

I just cleaned 3 of them yesterday with it...for any that are only mildly dirty I use it all the time (or sandblasting for really bad ones..)

(Off the car that is...watch getting the Eagle 1 stuff on any finished surfaces at least)

I use cast aluminum wheel cleaner on them off the motor, spray on and rinse after 20 to 60 seconds, depending on the outside air temps. DO NOT let it dry

Hemi Orange spray paint. really, I just adjusted my valves and my brushed valve covers look dirty. They don't clean easy and they'll never look new again. So I think the next time they come off they'll get cleaned up and shot w/ paint. I guess you could use a good clear coat and accomplish the same.
