I'd like to put a set of front and rear elastomeric bumpers on my 1970 Cuda. Should I wait until a "good" used OE set comes up for sale or should I purchase a repo set from Gean Gregory? http://www.alhambracustomservice.com/2.html Thank you all in advance for your assistance and knowledge sharing. Gene's bumpers are very nice with minimal work needed for installation...problem is Gene's business is supposaly for sale, he's pulling out of the business for health/retirement from what I've seen/heard, I know his daughter was helping him with the last run of rubber bumpers awhile ago, I wouldn't hesitate if he has some in stock, or is willing to make a set....he who waits, often goes without , used/beat originals are going to cost you as much, if not more than repros, NOS...open up and empty your wallet, if your lucky enough to find a set Mike

You'll need to elongate the slots in your brackets so you can move the bumper where it can tuck into the body properly,...Gene's urethane castings are pretty nice, a minimal amount of trimming and dressing the rubber will be needed for fitment and surface detail, you'll be miles ahead with the repros, rather than the repair that used rubber bumpers typically need, unless you find an original pair in great shape?....I wouldn't hesitate to contact Gene as he's been "liquidating" a lot of stuff on Ebay for the last 6 months or so...there's no other source that I know of for repro E body bumpers

AMD also said they are out of stock at the moment and to call back weekly for eta status (no eta at this time). I then called Stephens Performance and was told they sent the bumpers back to AMD due to major manufacturing flaws (they would not speculate) and will not be carrying them until AMD resolves the flaws. Looks like Glen Gregory is all we have for the time being.

He said he plans on remaining in business as long as he's still moving and healthy. I got the impression from him that he is slowing production down as well as discontinuing some items... ebody rear window louvers being one item. He also stated his daughter has a career in a different field and will not be taking over the business. He is a super nice guy to talk with.

Our new elastomeric bumpers are not a special product made specifically for Stephens Performance. We've been developing these bumpers for quite a while with the intention of making them available to all our distributors. Stephens has not purchased and returned any of these bumpers. To date, they've only sold one of these bumpers. It was sold at a show and Ted Stephens informed us that the bumper looked good and the buyer liked the product. I encourage anyone interested in one of these bumpers to call Ted Stephens direct @ 888-466-7276. Thanks guys
