I have two different style of bumper filler for Challengers. I'm including a picture of the two styles. The one on the left is what I have on my 71 now. It has a part number of 3464064 and fills the gap nearly 100%. The one on the right is what is being reproduced now and has a part number of 2962346 and seems to be the one I see on most Challengers. A search on Mopar Parts Numbers site shows the one on the right is a 1970 only piece. It shows the one on the left is a 1971 piece. Is the 1971 filler being reproduced by anyone or is the 1970 piece for 1971 also? Thanks for any insight. Terry

Some 70s had an extra bumper bracket to hold that filler piece in place. I wonder if the right one is the early style that required that extra bracket. The left one could be the updated part that didn't need the bracket.

I should have pointed out that the one on the left is for the passenger side and the one on the right is the drivers side filler so your looking at the inside of the fillers that you would see looking from the center of the grille. You could be right on the 1970 bumper bracket. I hadn't thought of that. The left one fits snug into the bumper.

I'll take a picture of my bumper fillers and post it on here to give everyone a good idea of what it looks like and they can compare it to how the other one fits. Those of you with 71 Challengers, which one are you using on your car?

As usual with parts, the 70 Challenger uses a unique style of bumper filler. I have only seen it on the 70 model and especially for cars with an early build date. The 70 only bumper filler part numbers are 2962344 and 2962345
This filler is flexible and will have NO cutouts. I believe that sometime in late 70 and definitely for the 71 model year the bumpers changed and there is a notch in the corner. These bumper fillers are molded in order to fit into the notch.

The bumper filler changed again for the 72 model, which is the one with the bigger rubber portion on the bottom. It also has an internal rigid frame that the rubber is molded around. The part numbers are 3464064 and 3464065

If I get a chance to dig the parts out I can post some comparison photos

As promised, here's the picture of the bumper filler with the non 70/71 style filler. I've had the bumper off several times over the last 40= years and just grabbed a couple of fillers not thinking about the difference. Guess I'll buy a few of the other style that are in great shape of the late 70/71 style. Thanks.
