70Duster440 OP super stock Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 1,069 Washington State	Have a '75 D100 my son and I are swapping a 440 into. Did the factory apply this sealer (like rubberized undercoat) to areas of the firewall or did some doofus do it after the fact?

Yeah, you can't really tell but on the far right side of the photo it looks as though someone placed an oval shaped stencil or mask over the area and sprayed. I'm going to try heating it and scraping with a putty knife to remove. It looks like hell. There is a water leak on the driver side. Not sure yet if it's in the cowl or the a-pillar. And because of that I have some cancer on that side of the floor.

Yours seems pretty sloppy, but who knows who started at the factory that day, first day on the job or hungover. Some original 72-80 trucks on rcc and ebay showing sealer in the same places.

I think some got it and some didnt. Looks to be keepingthe threads sealed from the elements to me??
