Thats neat, in 78 he was part of the "Scurge of the City" for doing that graffiti and now he was asked to recreate that "Buff" Graffiti painting. Id watch out If I were him, They are really just trying to close some old Cold cases. We have two old Hoodlums on board, Lee{Fullmetaljacket} and Dom{Thumperdart} Congrats Lee, and Happy Birthday Dom,

Very cool. I've always appreciated the artistic side of graffiti. Someday I'll have a piece in my home.

Lee was (is) one of the OG's.
I was a 'writer' myself in my younger days. It's beyond cool to see him hanging out here on Moparts talking cars.
NYC in the 70s and 80s was a pretty rough place. The Bronx was like the wild west. Graffiti was art imitating life. Some people saw it as a symbol of decay but I think it was kids reacting to their surroundings.
NY now is squeaky clean and homogenized, kind of like a big, expensive mall for Euro trash. It's all foreign money now. Regular people can barely afford to live here anymore. Sometimes I miss the old days where you had to be on your toes a little. It's lost a lot of it's character.
Again, hats off to Lee for being recognized by the straight art world and getting national TV exposure.

Some bodies got me mixed up with some other dude.....
LOL.
I guess the cat's out of the bag, no more running into phone booths to change. LOL.
Thanks for the kind words guys.
In short, I honed my skills and intuition to make way and pave a path most did not think I could ever achieve or believe in. Welcome my friends to the worlds first global art movement. It has many moving parts, so there is room for contention and invention.
Coming from New York that was then and is now, it's appropriate to say the following: "Just because things are right now, doesn't mean that they were wrong back when". Sometimes the life of an artist never seizes to amaze it's own practitioner.
