Why do you want to run a trans brake? You will then need a very high stall converter and that is pretty much strip only usage. Not street friendly.
I was kinda thinking the same thing ? My 63 is street/strip that is about 99% street as I race it about 2 times a year and I have alot of fun with it and I dont have a trans brake. Ron

Ok I have a 383 with an est 510hp. Im putting it in a 80 D100 Shortbox. It will be a weekend street/strip truck No Bracket racing at this time. What needs Done to my 727 in order to run a trans brake? Im very unfamilur with them. Thanks
To answer you question. The trans needs to be disassembled to drill a hole in the high gear clutch piston. I would recommend a high quality rear roller clutch. An aftermarket front drum is always a good safety measure. Other than that at your power level nothing more that a quality rebuild. That being said , unless you're a dedicated bracket racer a trans brake is unnecessary. Doug

One other thing that will get really annoying on the street, on most all modern brakes you have to hold the button down to back up. Not a real big deal, but it is very annoying, depending on where your button is.
