I mounted mine in the "stock" location in front-of the spindle on my '68 A-body, and in back of the spindle on my '70 e-body (see pic) The brake lines and calipers you need to use differ depending if you put them in the front or rear of the spindles. NO. If on this car the brake hard line/neoprene hose bracket is BEHIND the UCA AND you can mount the calipers in the front & they WONT interfere with the sway bar then that is what you want to do. Just use the particular spindle on the drivers side that will position the caliper mounting holes on the front side which means the other spindle when mounted on the passenger side will automatically position the caliper mounting holes to the front also.

the spindle from an A-body with out the bottom ball joint bolted to it will go on ether side the lower bj is side specific as well as the caliper bracket mounted front or back makes no diff in stopping you just want to go with the way the brake line is set up for front or rear mount of the caliper

When the calipers are to the rear of the spindle you have a short hose that has to routed just right or else it will kink. In front of the spindle you can use an off the shelf hose without any problems.
For the record, I used the 70-74 E-body calipers and hoses for the front mounted position on my '68 A-body conversion and 78 C-body calipers with GM/Firebird hoses for the rear mount conversion on my '70 E-body. The later uses a banjo style conection, and fit's beautifully. I'd have to look up which year the hoses are, or just ask Dr. Diff. That's where I got my parts.
