I was junkyarding today and came across a '75-'79 Dodge Charger with a 400 4 barrel and 727.

I grabbed the front swaybar because I was pretty sure it would bolt onto my '73 Satellite, but I was wondering about the torsion bars

Are the big block torsion bars on these cars larger in diameter than the small block torsion bars?

Are they the same length as the '73-'74 B-body torsion bars?

Also, do these cars have the 11.75" disc brakes, or the 11" brakes?

Just thinking of some cheap easy upgrades for my '73 Satellite.

Thanks!

The big block torsion bars are in fact a bigger diameter. I dont have the dimensions handy, but they will interchange with the 73-74 cars....all the way up to 79

since 73 all V8 and that includes SBs use same T bars, as far can tell by my Mopar catalog ( 1974 ) and as far I know is .960" bars. then just police cars got bigger than that ( 1" I think ).

the diff on Front suspension between SB and BB cars is on sway bar really, being thicker on BBs

yes, 73/79 B bodies are the same setup

Once again, that is what I'm able to say by the 74 Mopar parts catalog.

Even if it's got 11.75 rotors and they are out of spec, get the caliper adapters. They are different for the 11.75 rotors. They don't make those new. But you can get 11.75 rotors brand new.

You gotta measure those disks. But easy way to tell is if the rotor hat is squared off or at an angle.

10.75 small disks (squared off)

About the t-bars. 73-79 B's had three different capacities. The Low rated bars were used in 73 only. The Charger would -most likely- be the Mid rating. If you check the Charger bar ends they're prob stamped 660 and 661 (RH, LH respectively). There is a High cap set ending in 664 665 that were found, typically, on A38, and other HD apps.

Are you certain you don't already have the 660, 661s?
