Single 4 design, race only, 915 iron head, high compression, ect.

What is the best one?

Seen a test on short deck style, but nothing on the RB stuff.

Best over all I would presume is the Weiand 2-4bbl Tunnel Ram.

I would also presume the Edelbrock Victor for the single 4bbl..

I'm running a Wieand X-Cellerator currently

BTW I have both the above intakes for testing..... someday

back when I was running a 915 headed engine, the old TM7 worked pretty darn good, dont see them talked about much anymore.

I ran a 500 in stroker and the TM7 with a Dominator on an adaptor was quicker than the Dominator on a 4500 flange Weiand.

If it's a legit serious build, another vote for the Victor. But an M1 is still a decent piece and may work better for certain combinations.

I dynoed said engine with a team G and a 1050 then swapped to the Weiand T ram with 2 800 dp and picked up 30+ hp and 30 tq

The T ram and carbs are on another project now.

I wonder if a Victor 4150 with a 4500 adapter would work good?

For a single 4bbl intake I'd use the Mopar M1 4500. If you're running a 4150 carb then use a Wilson adapter or one of my shear plates with a dual pattern carb.

On a serious engine the 4500 plenum will pick up power over the small plenum that the Victor has.

Andy is that for 500+ ci ?

This is only a .030 440

I read a test on a Indy short deck 451 with a 4150 intake and a 4500 adapter made more hp and tq.

I would go this route. Its simple and it worked for me.

If the MODS did their job I would not be hitting the notify MOD button. LOL

I used to run a engine with ported 915 heads the Weiand with 2 Holley 650 double pumpers made the most power the 2nd one on power was the STR-14 intake with the same 650 Holley DP the 3rd best was the TM-7 with a 1050 dominator.

Another thing to consider...the added plenum volume of the 4500 manifolds will make more power on the dyno, but not necessarily run better at the track. Need to know more about the combo to recommend a manifold.

Hey Andy, I couldn't find the shear plates on your web site.
Thanks, Leigh.

It is a struggle to keep the website up to date!

I have the parts on the shelf. Hughes Engines can get you one if you want it. I posted a thread on this part last year but not sure it is still around.

It's a .030 over 440 12.5 to 1 with 915 heads 2.14/1.81 valves with zero port work.
Comp XE290 solid cam, Isky non roller rockers.

Plan is to pull it down just to check things and make sure it's at zero deck, then I have a old Racer Brown roller from the mid 80s that might find it's way in.
While the heads are off I'm gonna clean the bowles up a bit and check valve job

I do have a Weiand T ram and just found 2 600 dp on my shelf.

But the plan is to go in a first gen Dakota drag truck.

Anyone know what headers work on a big block Dakota?

We have used a-body fenderwell headers on all the Dakota builds with RBs ! with good success !

I would definitely do some bowl work on those heads at the very least, before i would worry about a "race" intake
