Jon, I can't say weather the Eddys will change anything, it may change something minutely which may be enough to aggravate your issue.
I can tell you that I have a '67 Satellite with a 440 and the Hooker Comps. I don't have a torsion bar issue, although they are close, but mine rattles on my steering column. I need to fix it and am taking my headers out in the next couple of weeks to hit it with a BFH.
Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat Hear my motor screamin while I'm tearin up the street

I don't have the issue with hitting the steering but I bought mine used with some existing dings. Now you are making me wonder if I would have enough space and leverage to ding the underside of the tubes with the headers still in the car.

I had the Edelbrock RPMs with the 1- 7/8 Super comps.....even with dinging the tubes it constantly burnt boots (I believe on #2). I changed to TTI's soon after for that reason. My understanding is the 2" super comps work better, as well as the regular hooker comps are supposed to work ok too. my
