If you have the time, there will be a FREE indoor race track driving school held on SATURDAY, MARCH 22, 2014, at the Joliet Autobahn Country Club race facility. The Autobahn is located about 50 miles SW of Chicago. Gates open at 8:00 AM, and classroom starts at 9:00 AM. This is an annual event hosted by the North Suburban Sports Car club (member of the Midwest Council of Sports Car Clubs) and covers all aspects of wheel-to-wheel road racing, hi-speed autocrossing, and race-day track support (corner workers, safety crew, etc). It’s a great way to see how you can get involved AND ENJOY THE SPORT!

Pre-register above by March 18, 2014 (short-cut NSSCC). On-course driving will be $20 pending the weather later in the afternoon. Lunch will be available at the track facility. If you can’t make it, even if you’d pre-registered, no harm done.

Hello Keyser (Pat) -- Thanks for additionally posting the event's time schedule. Regardless if you've got a Mopar (or no car), come and enjoy with whatever/whoever you can. This Free school is always well-attended, even if it snows or rains! They do start promptly at 9:00 AM and ends ~3:00 PM. Some of the area's best experienced drivers are there (W2W and HSAX), as well as safety crew (they have the "best seat at the track for watching a day's event"). Joining the club (NSSCC) is offered at a good reduced rate ($55 less $20 = $35)... and allows reduced entry rates at the MCSCC events per season.

We are getting a 3-5 inch forecast for Tuesday night here in central Illinois.

I believe the skills we learn from autocross/roadrace all helps us become better daily drivers (including in the snow!).
