Tech help needed...never worked on anything this new...engine has a dead miss and check engine light is on...took it down to the local Autozone and they ran the codes...says #3 cyl is mis-firing...where do I go from here? Is it computer, plugs, wires, coil? All the sales reps wanted to do was bad mouth that it was a Dodge...by the way it is a 5.7 Hemi and has 70,000+ miles...thanks in advance...

To start I would pull the coil off for that cylinder (easy)and look for burn marks on it. If thats ok pull the plugs and have a look at them.Does it make any noise? When was the last time it had a tune up?

It isn't making any noise...I haven't taken anything apart yet...I bought the truck with 40,000 miles on it and haven't done anything but keep the oil changed...what's involved in a tune up? (sorry for the ignorant questions just never touched anything controlled by a computer)

I sure hope it's not a broken valvespring...but you're the second person to suggest that...
