We're using Jeg's thermal sleeving on our fuel line, seems to work well (small block A-body):

I use the jegs thermal sleeve for my shifter cable after it melted internally and locked up. No problems since using the sleeve.

Aeroquip "Firesleeve" in engine compartment over fuel line and oil line to accusump. Ends taped with aeroquip tape. When I bought it, both only come in orange.

edit -
I just looked at some of the road racing and aircraft places that carry it. Now they are encouraging the ends to be closed off with clamps. Doing so will meet FAA requirement for fire resistance. Don't know if its "the best" but its pretty darn good. Insulation inside is thick. If you want to reflect more radiant heat, then slide some aluminumish sleeve on top.

I like and use xrp Fyre jacket for fuel lines and shifter cables (xrp # 320208 for -8) with a little shrink tube at the end to dress it off. It is silver silicone coated glass sleeve.

XRP also have frye foil with a inside seam now that looks nice
