did they make a half ton extended cab long box from 99-01? I miss my old extended cab long box 99 2500 at times. did they make a half ton equivalent or will I have to look for another 3/4 ton? 99-01/2 is my favorite year for those trucks because of the flip open rear doors.

Yes they did through 2001 and later. I believe they were available until the new ones came out for 2009.

I just sold a 2001 quad cab longbox 3/4 ton but have seen many 1/2 tons.

No. They were called Quad Cabs as they had back doors. Wife has an 01 1500 but ours is a shortbox.
One easy way to find out is KBB or NADA

I guess the issue is they are called CLUB CABS! Chrysler is the company that developed and offered the first CLUB CABS and only later did Ferd have a Super Cab and Chivvy have and Extended Cab. Please call them what they are... Dodge quit making CLUB CABS in 1998.

so the quad cab long box in the half ton is a 2001 only truck? that may be hard to find around here. might have to decide if I can settle for the short box. main reason I don't want another 3/4 ton is the insurance on it is a lot more and I don't want it as a daily driver just a backup vehicle/tow rig for a camper or boat.

To keep with the correct terminology, a 1500 Quad Cab/long box was available from 98 until at least 2006 if not 2008.

A Club Cab/Long Box was available from either 94 or 95 until 1997.

Actually the Club Cab long box was available starting in 73 as a two wheel drive.

In 1998, Dodge introduced the "Quad Cab", which used smaller suicide doors in the back for a door opening. This was offered as an option on the "Club Cab" for the model year.
