What is the actual length of the blades for a 71 Plymouth -the ones on the arms I have are approx. 18" but I'd read that 15" was the standard.

I ordered a pair of 15" Trico Classic's from Amazon but am wondering if they're too short, anyone know?
THx.

16", most modern refill wiper blades won't sit low enough to clear the hood when parked.

He's right it is 16", now the correct blade is a Anco with the little red button that releases the refill, but they are $$$$$, you can make a Tryco work, but it not a snap like the Ancos are. Go on ebay and you can find people that still have the correct ones.

Do you have all the parts except the rubber refills? Tell us what you have. A picture would be nice. This is what is supposed to be on your car, at least every 71 I've seen. They are called Turtle Backs.

heres whats on the car, they're 18" frames but they look like they belong on a chrysler

here;s the new Trico Classic's that are wrong - I'd read somewhere, perhaps on For B bodies Only - that these Classic's were the correct blade, look at the mount connection, they
re the slip on style over the arm not the pin style....

Yes, I think you have some C body blades on your car. I have some like that, that were sold to me also before I found out it took 16 inch blades. The new Tricos in the box has the same mount as my 69. The blades on your car are the correct STYLE of blade for a 71, just to long.

well thats a bummer, too bad they dont make the 71 mount in the classic then, its F-ing ridiculous what folks want for a wiper blade......

although they dont look correct would these fit under the hood and not be a clearance problem?

Well, first you need the correct Annco 16 blade, that's what the car came with. Look on ebay, maybe you can find some used ones, and then you can get the rubber refills. You can use some scotch bright, and they will look good as new. That's what I did. I just looked at the Trico blades you bought, and it said it will not fit a 71 Road Runner.

I was just looking to see if anything from ANCO looked compatible which is where the contour came in.

I'd read even the refills were getting hard to find at local parts houses..

Forget about local parts stores, Not only do they not carry this stuff, they only know new cars.Anco quit making this stuff a few years ago. You might get lucky and find an old style store with something.Every car I have seen, Anco made the arm and the blades, Anco blades were called Turtle Backs because of how they were shaped. Just look on ebay. I put Trico refills on my Anco blades just cause they were cheap, they came off of ebay. I left the button in place for just looks, but it doesn't function with the Tricos.
