73-Dart-sport OP member 7 Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 156 Ohio, U.S.	Anyone have suggestions where to buy this from. I was going to purchase just a sheet and install and called a local glass company. They quoted me $525.00 for a 4x8 sheet. Were they looking at a different product or is that what it is going for these day?

They are near chicago, maybe they can tell you who to call by you? Or call Pro Glass for pre formed windows, or full sheets. I talked to the rep for a big plastic company and he said I was wasting my money on any of the anti scratch products.. I had it on the first windshield but dont now... I just buy a regular sheet of Lexan or the same company brand stuff... I paid $220 or so for a sheet for a sheet of smoked color.... call around to all of your local or semi local companies... there is a big price difference.... when I talked to that rep that was back when I was working and I use to buy about 100-200 sheets a year

Don Pretty sure Cadilac plastic sold out or went under.. that was who the rep I talked to worked.... try calling them... that was where I bought my first sheet

I tried to cheap out ONCE and will never do it again. No matter how hard I tried to clean the uncoated stuff it always scratched and made night racing almost impossible. I need a sheet or two for the Daytona and was told the Margaurd10 in now around 370 dollars for a 4'-8' sheet but I didn't get a chance to stop in yet. I would tend to agree with what he said.. my first windshield was the anti scratch stuff and it got the same scratches that my other(standard stuff) got in about the same time frame... thats basically from trying to keep it clean and changing dial ins from the shoe polish stuff(I use the stuff called "dial in") EDIT Also I learned to flood it with water before you rub on it... that removes a lot of the sand and dust crap before you grind it in... I also tried in the past to clean the scratched using anti static polish.. it works but it wasnt worth my time Last edited by MR_P_BODY; 03/04/14 02:07 PM.

I would keep the car long enough for payback...this will vary case to case...probably about five years of racing. 2. Like another said...race at night. 3.want to keep my ride looking like a quality piece.

Vernon, Ohio	I used standard polycarbonate on my car, been there close to 20 years now and has been thru he.. and back, going to replace it when I refinish the paint and will use the std. stuff again, as stated before, if you wash the grit and dirt off first and use a soft cloth when you clean it, then it will last longer,,I also use lemon pledge which helps hide small scratches. Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

FastmOp master Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 5,762 Hot Rod Ridge	I use polycarbonate for my stuff. It comes with anti scratch coating for under a hundred a sheet. It's under the Tuffak brand. It might not have the anti scratch I forget lol. I get mine at General Rubber and plastics. I think it's a franchise cause I seen more then one lol Use TP and windex instead of paper towels or rags and the polycarbonate will last a long time. Mine been in about 15 years.

They have warehouses all over, Dayton,OH Cranberry twp,PA Useing Nexus to clean will make it last. Mr10 is hard coated on 2 sides Mr101 is coated on 1 side You can get old stock Mr101 pretty cheap at the Cranberry Twp,PA location. Tell them Larry sent you. 724 775 9025 Ask for the paper masking.

loaderpro member L Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 197 Nor-Cal	I use the standard stuff, then wipe it only with a "California Car Duster" If you get bugs try to remove them as quick as possible or lay a wet rag on them so they can be easily removed. As far as keeping the fine scratches out I use a product called "Fill n Glaze" It is designed for use on high end paints for removing swirl marks. This stuff is the best I have ever used and will make your night racing very "clear" 8062526-pomona.jpg (52 downloads)
