I'm thinking of T-ing in between my gauge sending unit and block on my SB, and wondering if this works well?

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

Instead of a light, mount a ignition kill switch...
if it drops below(we will say 15 psi) that it kills the
ignition... a light will get your attentions but you
would still need to kill the ignition

I always do that in my cars. I get a sender in the 12#-15# range and get a small flashing LED from the local auto parts. The LED costs less than $5 and can be stuck in almost anywhere and can be seen even in daylight.

It will always get my attention and in time to get ahead of any potential damage.

Master, again and still

That's what I'm looking to do, except use a 30lb switch so there is plenty of time to shut off. I know I've seen 30lb switches somewhere.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

Don't forget to make a over ride switch or circuit so the motor will run when started until it gets oil pressure

This is what I use on the boat for oil pressure and coolant temp. (Autometer pro lite warning system)from jegs or summit. You can buy the sensors in the pressure and temp range you want. I have it mounted in my field of vision and it shows up in bright sunlight. Plumbed in on a T with my guage sender. You don't want a boat shutting down on a pass.
