The block numbers on my 340 read:

2780930-340-6

Is this a standard 340 block? Do all 340-6 blocks have 'TA' stamped on them?

The "-6" is just a part of the casting number, referring to how many times the core box or something like it has been repaired or modified. It has nothing to do with anything else.

Here is a T/A block casting number.

As mentioned above, the number that follows 340 is mold related & not to be used for ID purposes.
