i'm having so much fun with my MSD system that i am very seriously considering going back to a dual point distributor.

in testing to isolate the issue, the engine has never run as well and as strong as it did with a 40 year old accel distributor and an $18 napa coil.

for the 2-3k miles i put on it each year, i can deal with points.

if i'm going to go that route, i'd like to find an original distributor. doesn't have to be a hemi, but an original big block dual point from the day.

any thgouths?

there is one for sale in the hemi section, but i'm not up for $750 for a distributor.

Ever think about a Accel big block dual point you can then convert it to pertronix. The beauty of the Accel is the ability to custom curve it easily. Frankly I have a Accel dual m[point in my one car that is currently sitting outside No choke and -9 and it started right up after 3 pumps of the gas yes I had to feather it but ran on its own after 1 min of fast idle.{ Had to move it for a plumber truck}

Here's what I did for my Hemi. I bought a rebuilt RB distributor from a parts store, sent it to Larry Shepherd, and he took it back apart to check everything, then he recurved it, and installed a Pretronix unit that I supplied. I painted the bottom black so they 99% of the people will think it's a cast iron dual point. I am also going to take one of their hot coils, and paint it the right shade of black, and then put the correct lettering on it. Just to fool most of the people.

Larry Shepard in the search thing. Ackron Oh. One thing, he took the vacuum advance off of my dist. I mounted a fake one on for looks, so I don't know how that will work on the street. We will find out.

These guys can help you out as well. They took care of my six pack cars. I didn't need a core for the ones I purchased.
