I am working on a project for a draw thru carb TT and I can not find info on who puts in the carbon seal and how big of a turbo it can be put in.[GT4088]
This is just a CAD I did to keep track of the build and measurements.

quickD100 is trying with some success to blow up a 318 with a draw thru system.

https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...rue#Post8039781

He might have some info on the seal you need and where to get it. He is running a GT45 single.

I hesitate to tell you because you would be much better off not going draw thru, but turbonetics still does ceramic/carbon seals for draw thru. The boat guys still do this for some reason, and turbonetics still caters to them. I dont think you will get any GT series turbos with these seals, but efficientcy doesn't seem to be high on the priorities of this build anyway. There are still alot of good turbos out there in non-GT variety, and they are much cheaper.

Just wondering why you would go draw through instead of blowthru? Not being critical just wondering

When you take that obstruction off, let me know, I'll take it to the junk yard for you.

I just talked to turbonetics and the largest turbo I can get is a to4E 60 for 800hp max falling short of my 1,000 to 1200 hp goal.

Get two turbos for a hot air turbo Buick. 1981 were hot air cars. I think some of the late 70's trans AMs were hot air as well.

You want to make big power but will never make it with your approach.
You could do a single 88 and blow thru and accomplish your goals.
You know how to make headers now and you ain't scared to spend the $$. I would think you would want the HP without the hassle.

i don't have to make big power but ya gotta start somewhere. You must understand that my goal is for a draw thru not a blow thru good bad or other I am finding what the limits are and go from there.

Might try a Aussie forum or something like that,I think some of those guys might still run draw through. Not to sound like an a** but why do something the hard way when you can get better results easier? A big single/blowthru would do the job, be lighter, easier to plumb, way easier to tune etc. Just trying to wrap my head around the why part.

You are obviously set on a draw thru. Just get the biggest offerings and live with what you end up with. Looks seem more important than function here anyway. If you like the look of a draw thru system, then you need to be prepared for all the down sides that go with it. The less than stellar all out performance goes hand in hand with very poor cold start, laggy spool up, poor cyl to cyl distribution, detonation, explosive boost tubes, etc...
I've gone this route, and believe me, it aint worth the hassle if power is what you're after. For cruise nights or whatever it looks kinda cool, but than you have to come up with a long list of excuses to tell the guys that want to race you.
