these "crosswind" intakes are made in China & I understand the early ones had severe quality/fit problems but that has been corrected. I have not used one myself but was considering it as the price is right & the only reason I didn't is I decided to redrill my magnum heads & use my current intake that would be a better fit with it's 318 sized ports since the crosswind has 340/360 intake port size & I want a perfect match.

I bought a polished one used for cheap, and it seems to be a good fit. There are minor casting flaws that require attention to be eyecandy perfect. These could have been easily dealt with by the manufacturer before shipping. They didn't seem to bother the previous owner.
Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen!
Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

Magnum heads are the same regardless of whether they came from a 5.2 or 5.9 and are the 340/360 size so the CrossWind would have the correct size ports.
My mag heads have smaller ports that match the 318 port size on my holley street dominator intake & are much smaller than the port openings on the 360 587 & 974 heads that I have laying around. Other wise I would have grabbed one as they're on eGay regularly for ~$185 or so which ain't bad. Unless I'm missing something here
You have some sort of mongrel head. The magnum intake port is the same as the 340/360 open chamber heads. The difference (besides the closed chamber) is in the exhaust port.

I had one on my 360...changed it out yesterday for the edelbrock air gap. I didn't really have any problems with it that were its problem, but I had an oil leak at the one end and figured i'd just put an edelbrock on it. If anybody wants one I have one I'd sell pretty cheap, just send me a PM (even has a 195 t-stat, heater tube and bypass fitting). I also took it off because people (mostly my Dad) were giving me crap about using Chinese knockoffs. Otherwise, its almost identical to the Edelbrock Air Gap.

There is an article in the currant issue of Popular hot rodding that used that intake on a 318 and made 477HP.
I have an eddy air gap and have seen the two next to eachother. Probably cost a couple HP from casting quality but no real obvious differance. A bunch of people were haveing issues with various leaks and bad angles and such but have not heard those problems lately, mabey they fixed them. I chose to spend the extra on the eddy.

Thanks for the replies. I would like to use the Eddie Air Gap also as that is what I am currently running, but I'm switching to Magnum heads and the Eddie Air Gap puts the thermostat on the pass side and it appears as though it will interfere with the A/C compressor

If you already are useing an LA intake just have the intake bolt holes redrilled on your mag head in the LA bolt pattern. I made myself a jig and it works great and have done many heads with it. That is a lot cheaper than even the chinese manifold.
