I am about to buy wheels and tires for my challenger, wanted to get advice before I spend money that I may regret. Car is 70 convertible, all stock suspension. My plan is 18x9 with 0 offset / 5" backspace in back with 255/45/18's and 18x8 with 0 offset / 4.5" backspace with 245/40/18's in the front. I know with this tire setup I'll have a little rake, which is what I want.

I think you can go wider on the rear tire and stil fit. Someone will jump in here who has an E body. Since you want a slight rake, have you considered going with 17" in the front? I run 18 rear 17 front and I absoultely love the way it looks. Id also give some thought to lowering the car if you are going to go larger on the wheels. Makes the proportions look better IMHO. Put some pics up when you get them!

Brace yourself for some less than pleasant observations about your wheel size preferences from certian people around here. They have likely been alerted to this thread and are pulling on their Jack Boots as we speak. As soon as they are done burning books they will post up lol

Mine is a 70 B body.. being that B and E use the same suspension I'm thinking 4 1/2" b/s on the front is going to be real close to the upper A arm? Mine are only 15's and are 3 1/2" back it just seems as though that would be close. Maybe the larger diameter helps with the clearance??
