Not the same era, but I had a '95 Dakota, blower stopped working completely as yours. Blower resistor coils were good. On the Dak, the blower was under the passenger dash. I pulled it apart enough that I could see it in action (or inaction). With the switch on, I gave the squirrel cage a little bit of a manual spin, then the motor gradually picked up speed and worked. It was lazy (dry). Gave the blower motor shafts a squirt of oil, and the motor worked freely on its own after that, no further work required.
