who makes a pan with a drain plug for a reasonable price? all the ones i seem to find are 295.00 bucks

That's about what they all run. I've put on a ton of Mag-Hytec pans and never had any issues. The shop I worked at used the Double Deep pans on all our builds.

Why not just install a drain plug kit in your old pan? Most all parts stores carry the kit.

Buy a fluid evacuator.... It will literally empty the pan with the right length of vinyl hose. Use one at work all the time.
