PT belt/alternator problem

Ahnau OP member A Joined: Feb 2014 Posts: 1 UK	Hi... I have a 2008 PT with the 2.2 Mercedes diesel (UK). Had the serpentine belt go three or four times, now traced to a seized alternator. I've read a few posts about alternators failing, but has anyone every had this (alternator snaps the belt then carries on working apparently fine for months then does it again)? I'll post again if this is/isn't the root of the problem. Thanks :-)
