What's a cage??

Anyone using the VHT roll bar paint? Eventually when I get kicked out a few more times I'll do my cage body color. I think it would look cool with vanilla against black interior.

I am pretty sure the VHT roll bar paint is the same as their satin black chassis epoxy. Just a different label, I have used them both.

I wonder if just using a light color would be a decent compromise, since no paint could get out of control for many corrosion wise IMO, and I like the idea of having cracks be obvious.

Rustoleom... the Chassis Saver tends to chip pretty easy

Chassis Saver is supposed to be applied over rusty metal or sandblasted metal. Was your chassis rusty or sandblasted? If it was smooth, it won't stick well at all.

I knew a guy that had a car with a chrome moly cage with really nice TIG welds. He had Scotchbrited the entire cage, and then sprayed it satin clear. Looked nice, and it showed off those nice TIG welds.

Thanks for the responses and good ideas. I want to knock this part out soon so I can get the car painted and put the windshield and back glass back in there. Test fitted the motor and have it sitting in there now...

Rustoleum Hammer tone black with a small brush, it's actually a metallic gray color. no masking, hard as nails and easy to touch up.

Rustoleum Hammer tone black. Have actually been asked how I was able to powder coat the cage in a back half car? Easy to touch up if required.

This is what Mine is as well. I need to repaint the drivers bar, after 2.5 seasons of sliding in and out of the car all the paint is worn off.

Some of the tubes were rusty... I scotchbrited all
the tubing before applying it to give it some bite..
where I seen it coming off the easiest was on the
trans even after cleaning it good

OK so I think what I'm hearing is to get hammered and brush something on there! I'm good with that.

Epoxy primer, base coat clear coat. It was easier with the body removed and on a rotisserie.
