What year trans will a 1970 727 valve body work in. Would it work in a 67 or 68? Thanks Guys

Yes, no issue. Any year non lock-up from 66 up.

IIRC the combs for VBs are different in early years.I believe they changed in 68 or 69.Rocky

A '70 VB is correct for only '68-'70 but it will work in a '66-'67.

'71 and later cases have a different accumulator fluid circuit.

As mentioned the shift rooster combs are different for the different style of neutral safety switch. The '70 and later used the three prong switch for the reverse lights too. The earlier one did not control the reverse lights. I also think the stop tang is different on the shift comb. I think I ran into a problem swapping them because of the stop?

The rooster comb problem only arises if you try to swap one into the incorrect VB casting, for a complete VB swap (like the OP) the 3-prong rooster comb will work with the '64-'68 single-prong switch but not vice-versa.
