Is the black emblem correct for my 71 Cuda? Or is it the other one?

Thanks
Karl

i always thought only the cuda's got a by plymouth name plates. the barracudas didn't get one.
the silver by plymouth was on early 80's volares.

perception is 90% of reality

Agree, black will be correct ... Are those the repro ones, any indications on rear side?
Originals sometimes turned a dark chocolate brown over period of time from the elements.
Grey was B-body, like on the doors of 69 Roadrunner

These were made using a laminate process, basically an embossed foil with the "by Plymouth" raised up, the surrounding area colored in blacked (for Cuda versions) then a clear protective film was applied over the top. This laminate piece was glued into the chromed pot metal emblem. Over the years several Mopar name plates used this exact same pot metal emblem casting with various laminate inserts for the various applications. The only reproductions I've seen were poorly made and not manufactured in the same way and therefore not correct in the details. NOS versions are out there but usually several hundred dollars when found.
