AJ, Mark, and I are very happy to announce the date and details of our 7th annual practice tree race!

The 7th annual Steel City Practicee Tree Shootout practice tree race, presented by Pittsburgh Raceway Park, is set for Saturday, March 8, at New Alexandria Fire Hall, 8370 Route 22, New Alexandria PA 15670. Coming from the west, it's on the left side of Route 22 about 1/4 mile past the Sheetz at the 22/981 junction. Coming from the east on 22, it's on the right about 1/2 mile past PRP.

Saturday, March 8, 11:30am, $5 cover charge to all, which gets you lunch (menu will be fried chicken plus donated dishes from participants), 12:30 little race ($5 entry) starts, big race ($20 entry) starts after little race is completed. Double entries allowed in both. No reentry or buybacks in little race. Big race will have reentry for first round losers (win reentry round to get back into round 2). Last year, little race paid $225 to win, $100 runner up, $25 semis, $10 quarters. Big race paid $1000 to win, $300 runner up, and paid back to the 1/8ths.

Sponsors wanted! Food dishes wanted!

We thank our returning presenting sponsor:

And the great support from Carmen Tedesco, Carmen's Cafeteria, and Ionadi Auto Sales - http://www.ionadiautos.com/

Less than 2 weeks away! Please let us know you're coming, by posting, PM me, Aj Casini, or Mark Romeo, or email us at steelcitydragrace at yahoo.com

Thanks to NAPA Auto Parts of South Greensburg, 724-834-3520, for returning as a sponsor!

The bounty hunter program is back, thanks to Bob Jones and Jones Transmission Pumps! In rounds 1-4 of both races, we will randomly pull a racer to place the bounty on. Whoever wins that round picks up $10, courtesy of Jones Transmission Pumps! Please check them out at http://www.jonestransmissionpumps.com/

Of course, we always believe in, if you can't race well, eat well, and thanks to our participants, it will be true again this year! In addition to the fried chicken we'll buy, and the iced tea, lemonade, and water we'll have, we'll have buffalo chicken dip courtesy of Carrie and Rich Penn, cookies from Jennifer Wilson, and contributions from Amy Romeo and Sonya Devola!

Head on over. With all the cold weather recently I am sure we all have some cabin fever setting in. It's going to be another great event. Hope to see many of you there.

1 day away from the 7th annual practice tree race! And for the first time in a few years, we have a nice weather forecast! Thanks to Pittsburgh Raceway Park, G&S Racing LLC, Greg Miller, Ionadi Auto Sales, Carmen's Cafeteria, and Carmen Tedesco for their generous donations towards the big race purse. We're hoping that there are enough participants to once again pay $1000 CASH to the winner of the big race! Pretty sweet for just a $20 entry!

Thanks to Jones Transmission Pumps and Bob Jones for bringing the bounty program back!

Thanks to NAPA of South Greensburg and Joe Devola for their continued support!

Thanks to all the folks making some goodies for us all to enjoy!

Remember, we'll be doing a 50-50 raffle to benefit the Thinking of Nikki Foundation.

If you are coming, but haven't told us yet, email us at steelcitydragrace@yahoo.com, hit us up on FB, or PM us. Thanks!

It would have got him to your table if you had a sign that said..." Free Stuff"

Allen, Dave, Doug, thanks again for making it out to join us!
Eric, you were missed, of course!
Earl & Bill Hall's deer meatloaf was worth the trip in itself! And then Earl mopped me up in round 1 of the big race, .001 and .007.
In a first for our event, both the $5 race and $20 race had the same 2 finalists, and the same outcome, with Jeff Serra prevailing over John Sahli.
It was a good time for sure. And we raised $150 for the Thinking of Nikki Foundation (www.thinkingofnikki.com)
