Do the front bumpers on the pre 94 trucks have a slight bend at the top center of the bumper? All the ones I see in the junk yards look a little bent there. Like someone hooked a tow strap to it. But it also looks like it could be factory.. Thanks..

it gets that bent look from bumping things with the corners of the bumber. I have done it to a few bumper.

I have also used a BFH to make a few bent ones look way better for daily drives.

the later bumpers are fatter looking with no tag cut out, they will get the same small bend in the middle.

BUT..some times a bumper has the bend from a chain hooked to it

BOBS bumper does not look after market to me??? it looks well used but not aftermarket.

Check out rockauto.com. You can get new aftermarket bumpers dirt cheap.

"Dealer Installed" doesn't necessarily mean OEM.

One of my good friends was a factory rep for some aftermarket bumper manufacturer for quite a few years. He drove around a five-state area in a van loaded to the gills with new aftermarket bumpers. He sold them to new truck dealers who would buy the new trucks without bumpers and then put on the cheaper aftermarket bumpers. It's a fact of life.

The dealer install was when they towed it out to the back of the lot with the tow strap hooked on top & in the middle of the bumper

Your buddy sold rear bumpers most likely as you can't buy any vehicle new without a front one not even a new dealer can do it Rears are a different story
