First off..Modern Mopars are not real receptive to "trick of the week" spark plugs, Put in it what is supposed to be in it (IIRC RE14MCC4) and before the crap starts...if anybody has trouble believing me on that...come do my job for a while, this isn`t my first rodeo Second, have them..or somebody clean the throttle body, Good...do not just wipe it out, remove it and clean it good, it must be spotless While they are there pop the map sensor out and make sure it dosen`t have alot of buildup on it. And yes some of the early 5.7`s had a tendency to break intake valve springs, It isn`t so common that every one does it, but it happens. Just my Rick

Rick are you saying that motor is that finiky when it comes to a plug ?
Yes I am....Trust me, years ago I would have told myself I was full of it, but I have seen and fixed driveability problems associated with incorrect or the "latest and greatest" plugs in stuff so many times it isn`t funny..people can choose to believe what ever they want, but in 25 years of this crap on nothing but mopars I have seen it too many times.

I for one don't buy into the 100K spark plug change interval , thats nuts .
I do not either unless the application calls for platinum plugs which is usuallu the only time you`ll see a 100k interval, as clean as things burn today it isn`t unusual to see 100+ thousand mile platinum plugs look pretty good considering the age, However His `04 will have standard plugs and I personally like to see them changed around 40-50 thousand`ish(I think "B" service interval is 30k) I`ve noticed a handfull of hemi`s that have had Plat plugs put in them start eating coils a few thousand miles after install. If you want to see a engine that eats plugs, take a gander at any 4.7 with 25-30k on it, I have never seen something wear plugs as bad as that engine does.

Get it to a dealer and let them scan it further.
Could be a sensor or dirty throttle body, but it is possible that one of the springs may be getting weak or is broken. It is not very common, but can happen in 03-05 Hemis. If it is the problem, replace it or all of them with the updated version and it shouldnt happen again.
2016 Ram 1500 Crew Cab: 5.7, 65RFE, 4.56 gears with locker, Hemifever tuned, AFE intake, 87mm throttle body, JBA headers, 3" Flowmaster exhaust, split to dual 2.5" exits. 13.57 best ET so far.
Searching for new A or B Body Project!

Yeah broken valvesprings are common on new hemis- even aftermarket springs break, beehives save weight at the cost of durability.
Has the hesitation gone away yet, I had a PCM problem with my 04 when it was new and the new PCM took a few days to learn, for the first 50 miles it would barely run, spit, sputter and stall out, it took about 400 miles to get back to normal, if they reset the PCM it may be the problem.

The first thing I asked them is if the computer needed to relearn and they told it didn`t and was not the problem.Got a call today saying the throttle body is no good and they are replacing it and I will have to pay another $100 warranty deductible. How do I get a hold of a zone manager to complain to?
It never left the parking lot. Don,t pay another $100 bucks.
