Does it still have the beam front axle? You can modify the axle and move it above the springs instead of being below the springs. If you do this, watch the oil pan clearance. Short of this, you can probably remove every other spring from each front spring pack. The next option is a Mustang II suspension, or other front frame clip (like a Dakota).
Have the brakes been upgraded? Also, take care of that windshield, they are hard to find and expensive, only fit 54 and early 55. Gene
It has the stock axle up front. I'm looking at having "Sids" re-shape the front for a 3" drop ($350) and then removing leaves to lower more if needed. It has drum brakes though they have been rebuilt. Discs are on my mind for sometime. I haven't bought it yet. I wanted to see what I was getting into before I jumped in.

Nice truck. Put a Dakota front clip on it and it will look like this. [/quot
I so dig that truck. It's part of the reason I'm looking at this 54. I kinda want to keep it old school though. (at least for now) A frame swap is a big, time consuming job. I just don't have the time right now. I'd love to see more of your truck if you have pics. I'm at addes426@gmail.com

with the dakota clip you still need to buy the 2 inch drop spindles and possibly the drop coils as well----unless you Z the frame...
It all depends on how you attach the Dakota clip.

Yea, I think so too. My 75 Cordoba has a set of AR Torque Thrusts that would make it rock too.

thats why they call it Z-ing a frame---without a picture here it is basically putting a dakota frame on top of the original truck frame---makes a stair step thereby lowering the truck...
