400 blocks is there a big difference 1970 to 10 of 71 castings, are these the best??? thanks for any help.

From the research that I have done any 400 block would be a better choice for rigidity than any 440 block out there from a stock factory block standpoint, as long as they sonic good.jmo

Someone did a bunch of sonic checks on a number of 400 blocks spread out over the production run and the old "myth" of early blocks being better didn't seem to hold up. Ah here it is http://440source.com/blockinfo.htmRead and decide for yourself.
