Got the car running today with a new MTX-L A/FR gauge. Have never used one of these, but moving from 6000' down to 1000' figured it would be the best way to set the car up. Idle reading is 22.0, and just off idle drops to 17.8. Engine is a 499 stroker, 14:1 cr., Demon 1090 carb jetted 93 pri/94 sec., no PV. Just don't understand why it's reading so lean with that size jets. Thanks for the help.

A gasoline engine will misfire at 22:1 a/f ratio. I think your readings aren't accurate. You may be getting reversion and the sensor is reading air being drawn back into the exhaust. Where did you install it?

Yeah, I calibrated it before I started it. Maybe engine is too cold? Didn't want to run it too long that way, afraid I' d hurt something.

t be able to look at the plugs until I get it to the track. Jetting is what BG put in at the factory. I assumed that would be a good place to start.

Thanks, I guess I won't know where I'm at until I get to the track. It's starting to make sense now.
