if the headlight switch doesn't work, look to the headlight control module, and the newer headlight systems ground thru the headlight switch.

There is a phenomenon in those cars called "light show" where the dash lights blink consistently. The replacement of the switch remedies that. Whether or not that is the actual issue with the '99, I don't know. You could probably find a reference to the headlight issue over on DodgeIntrepid.net. I will say if it is the switch, is to be real careful taking the dash apart. It seems simple enough, but it is not a simple straight forward task. IIRC, the lower bolster panel comes out, the bezel surrounding the switch goes over the column above the column is a major pita to deal with. Why it was designed that way I was able to do mine just under an hour.

test for you. That car has the "auto on" headlight feature, lights come on automatically at dusk. If you turn this feature off and use the switch old fashion manual mode, do the lights still come on at random?

hahaha the "light show" great way to describe it, it happens on my 300m constantly. I did mess around with the switch and got it to stop. I know that's not the answer but love the description...

My 99 Concorde does the light show thing sometimes, I just mess with the dimmer switch trying brighten and dim them real fast, that usually stops it for a few months.

Logical move. I tried it without much success. Switch price wise wasn't that bad. The service manual used to be downloadable on DodgeIntrepid.net. Not sure if it still is. Speaking of electrical gremlins... Another quirk is the HVAC head display flaking out. Another annoyance. Remote trunk release harness wires loosing connection after being flexed all these years. For a REALLY fun problem, wait until the Torque Converter Clutch code triggers the check engine light DAMHIK!
