GLR OP master G Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 2,506 Northern Pa	Is there anyone that knows of a place that cuts the A 518 Transmission bells off so that I can bolt on the Ultra Bell? I want a nice clean job done , I have a good friend that owns a transmission shop but he doesn't want to cut off the bell.

GLR OP master G Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 2,506 Northern Pa	I know I could do it myself, I just wanted the cut to be as perfect as possible so the the ultra bell fits tight to the cut casing. I just received a PM from a Moparts member that has cut the A 5-18 down on a lathe..... nice job...

That sounds like a real scary deal to me, been years since I ran a lathe and I sure as heck never tried to turn something as large and oddly balanced as a trans case and you are shooting for a "perfection" that is not needed and in fact unwanted. The Ultrabell doesn't bolt to the case, but to the front pump. They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
