My 89, 92, & 06 are just the tube, I've never seen a tank on any of them.

Reason I ask this question is that my 2002 2500 had a catch can just behind the radiator. When it got full from oily moisture the fans would scatter that mess all over the back of the radiator. Older trucks had a overheating problem because of this. Some of the diesel forums had suggestions on re-locating the catch can to the D/S wheel well.
I know some of these trucks, 03-05 I think and the new 6.7's have a crankcase vent filter on the valve cover. Is this what you're talking about?

I bought my 2002 used and the PO tinkered with it a lot. He was a heavy duty diesel mechanic. When I got it there was a "road draft tube" off the front of the engine with a heater hose extension? The bottom of it had a cloth secured with a zip tie and zip tied to the sway bar...I never asked the PO about it, so maybe there was a puke tank that he had discarded?

Does this Ram have that provision. Catches any oil vapor from the crankcase. I know the earlier 5.9s have it
Your 07 vents to the atmosphere, but first the vapors go through a separator on top of the valve cover. You'll find a small hose that allows oil droplets to return to the crankcase on this unit.

No, it was an actual puke tank that would eventually overflow into the radiatior and gum it up. Just wondering if my 08 has the same thing

98-2002 24 valve only. If you read the owners manual that bottle was to be emptied at each oil change.
Even emptying it at every oil change, they still make a mess. The dealership eliminated mine and everything is a lot cleaner under the hood since then. It now just has a hose going straight down and zip tied as described above.
I took that nasty little bottle off and ran a new line to a catch can...like the one you use for a vacuum pump on a race car. Works good.
