How many of you guys are actually out giving your cars regular beatings? I'm in the middle of an engine swap and am jonesing big time to go pound some curves straight and am wondering who can I be jealous of right now? I have put about 2500 miles and around 40 road course laps on in the last 2 summers and that is not enough! How many sets of tires have some of you cretins ate up in the last couple years?

Can't afford to yet, need to figure out why, and how to fix, it loses oil pressure on course, sometimes, aluminum oil pump doesn't help. Haven't even driven the car last year. I'm thinking of getting a different oil pan - better construction, and eliminating the oil cooler, but can't afford to yet, probably needs ANOTHER set of bearings. Still getting stuff for the boat, and fishing equipment.

I am in the mounting/plumbing stage of an oil cooler install as we speak. Had it pretty nailed down then decided to install a thermostat.

What puzzles me is a couple things.
1) when the car was driven for the first time after installing the rebuilt engine with the road race pan I went to the autocross club's practice. I didn't run it, as it was too new, I watched. When I drove home and turned a corner from a stop going very easy it lost oil pressure, turning to the right. I put in another qt, but it took a bit to get pressure back.
2) Then on course it can lose pressure in a corner or down the straight, doesn't make any difference.
3)I even bought a new $500 timing chain cover. The factory covers have the oil pump cast into it, and the new covers were the same as factory, didn't help at all.
I'd like to figure out a dry sump some day.
The other thread that had some info on the oil pan company didn't give a price on the pans, or even how to find the price, but going by the price of the line the pan probably cost $1,000, ok maybe $800.
milidon oil pan people

Which group do you run track days with? NCRC? I have only driven the bypass configuration there. Can't wait to track my `Cuda at Thunderhill
