About three thousand... then the heads blow off
The swap meets have been full of those blown up parts for years. Stock blocks are limited just like anthing else, many mods can be made to strengthen them up. concrete load, billet caps, main, cross bolt and head studs. The higher the horse the finer the line you walk. What is your application ? Street car ?

How good is your tune up? Boosted or unboosted...Stock Hemi blocks are pretty stout, but the perlitic main caps can be a pain at higher HP levels. I went to Program main caps after I broke one of the stockers...Deck thickness is somthing to check too. You will want to deck it a little for sealing, and the substantially increased deck thickness on the aftermarket blocks. Other than that, they are good to go right past +1000hp...
