Has anyone tried the whiplash cam in a 440? I have a stock low compression 8.2-1 1972 440 engine and am thinking about using/trying one of these. This cam/profile sounds pretty interesting...

Seems like they have alot of lift and duration...wondering how the whiplash cam doesn't kill cylinder pressure - on the Hughes website it is fine for low compression 440's? I wonder what kind of horsepower this cam can make in a bone stock 440.

Wondering how this cam will work with a 750 Holley Vacuum Secondary and stock stall speed converter and 4.11's in a 3,100 pound Dart?

You've got a light car and enough gear to get away with a lot on a smogger 440. I would keep the cam UNDER 230* @050 on the intake side. Exhaust can be whatever. Find something ground on a 110* LSA or higher.

I don't feel like searching through their site, have a link to the cam in question?

I am guessing that you install the cam with the intake centerline advanced to increase the cylinder pressure (earlier intake valve closing point) if used on a lower compression engine?
The narrower LSA will help keep the exhaust timming events at about the correct location, and the increased overlap will give a "noticable" idle?

When is the intake valve closing event at .050? You're missing numbers there...

Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

Yep, pretty much what I thought.
To have the timming points above the cam would have to be installed with a 104 intake centerline.
This gives Intake closing at 0.050" = 40 ABDC
Exhaust Opening at 0.050" = 52.5 BBDC

I think it should work good.
