i want to flush mount a whole set of gauges in my 68 charger. i was thinking of useing a set of autometer gauges. I dont want to use the factory gauges. My factory gauge panel is in nice shape and i dont care to make it work.I dont mind to use a diffrent gauge panel either. I thought i would post it here hopeing for some help. Pictures will be awesome Thanks

Instead of destroying a nice factory panel, try this route. Buy your gauges, and arrange them as you want, then go to a local machine shop that has a water jet, there is one up here in Morristown, and let them cut a panel out of aluminum. The water jet will make very nice edges and holes that won't require any smoothing or filing.

Thanks i'll give it a thought. Still trying to think of a good way to flush mount them. if i cut a hole in the metal the ring bezel will stick out past the metal.

One more thing to think about. How are you going to light the gauges up, there is the standard type where the face is lit up, but the other I think is nicer looking, and that's where the light comes through the numbers.
