If the pattern is to wide you should be able to adjust it narrower. The painter at my shop does all his cars with a gun that he got in a set of 3 for $80. A expensive gun doesnt make a good painter, LOL

I am a 2 time loser then
What i read between the lines was he has as a novice reached the limits of what his gun can do!
And he wants a better gun to make up for his skills so he can do better work.

I know my sharppe planum gun shoots better than my HF purple gun. but i use the purple cheapo for shooting laqure on my cabnets and primer on car stuff to keep the better gun cleaner for paint.

Under cheap guns they sell Astro I want to get the lvlp http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/pc-11608-560-astro-lvlp-gravity-feed-spray-gun-evo4014.aspx Ive heard good things about it. I use a divilbiss hvlp for primers and base coats and a Div plus for clear. Some of the Div gun kits come with 3 tips so you can really do a lot with the one gun.

PS shop around Ive seen them cheaper than the links I sent.

While I kind of agree thats not always true. Some guns atomize the paint alot better than others and you get a better overall finish and less chance of unwanted blemishes in your paint (i.e. dry spots, tiger stripes, polka dots....). Of course a lot of this depends on the paint to, things like color, metallic vs. nonmetallic and yadda yadda yadda...all play a role.

Who'd shoot $300+/gallon paint with a $30 HF gun??? They shoot primer and surfacer as good as some $200 guns I've used. Which happens to be what the last thread asked about on the CHEAP! Keep it in context.

That Astro Evo gun posted above is a good piece.
