Hey gang.. Guess this is the more appropriate section for my Hemi transplant in the ole' '69 Daytona of mine....... Here's the link from the "General" section. HEMI and WINGS thread Just got an early Christmas delivery from Santa-MegaParts.... Thanks Jaime....... A bounch of parts per example: both battery cables, carb air cleaner studs, various fasteners, date-coded Hemi spark plugs cables, etc...... Will be nice to see these on a freshly painted motor.....

Right before my family's Christmas vacation, I received a bunch of parts from Jaime at MegaParts USA. Today I replaced the intake fasteners that were on the motor with an OEM correct set with the proper return spring and throttle brackets. I also mocked up the throttle/kickdown assembly to make sure everything works fine. The kickdown is made by Brian Brady at crossramconnection, so quality stuff. I knew I forgot something, the rear body ground strap. So, that'll be on my next list. Need to have that installed prior to detail painting. I am going to go ahead and order a complete Hemi k-member and proper brackets for the car.... Heard some negative things about the Schumacher adapters and can't ever get ahold of John Azzurra to inquire about his hemi motor mount adapters.....

Did some detailing today ( prefect day since it rained most of it )...
1. freshened up the valve covers with a new coat of paint 2. installed the fuel line and pump ( need to get fittings ) 3. painted the thermostat housing I got ( proper one with the right casting number ) 4. installed the driver's side motor mount insulator and painted it ( as it was on the motor when painted; of course, after I bought another one, I found the original I had all along sitting in the cabinet...... ). Oh well, now I have an extra......
5. installed the alternator with, what I believe it, the proper pulley ( not the late model dual pulley you get on stuff now )..... Along with that, the brackets as well.
Looks good regardless...
May not be 100% perfectly OEM correct, but it's not half bad either.....

One step closer... My AR140 AR Engineering .375 crank spacers arrived today... From the looks of it, it looks dead-on.. I think this was a relatively good solution and quickly at about $80 total........ I just need to get some longer bolts...... Hopefully I can find the same type of bolts that are OEM, but a little longer.......

Some more today....... Power steering pump... I got my refurbished Federal Power Steering pump back today with the proper Hemi pulley installed. I painted it all up and installed. I am pleased thus far with the alignment of water pump, alternator, crank and p.s. pump with the AR140 spacers for the crank.... Also got my tranny dipstick for a hemi and fuel fittings for the fuel pump. I am looking into getting the proper squeeze fuel line clamps. A little OEM-overkill, but that's what I'm all about as long as it doesn't break the bank or take food off the table...... ( or beer in the Frig. )

Also, pleasant surprise. I was taking off the remanufacture decals placed on the alternator I got last week. Low and behold, the darn thing is a proper 1969 383/440 alternator !!! with a date code of 4-69 no less !!! The same month my Daytona was built !!! This alternator is a keeper !! With the proper era pulley, she looks the part......

Ok, today lifted the motor off the cradle and put on an engine stand so I could tinker with the headers and modify the dipstick tube to accommodate the headers..... I think it came out pretty cool...
