It's called Brite Dip. It's different than clear anodizing. Commonly used on exterior aluminum bright trim.

You need to have them striped of existing coating, polished extremely well, then re Bright Dipped.

Can get expensive. Compare total resto cost to buying new repro's.

Or you can strip them in Easy Off oven cleaner. Polish yourself. And just maintain the finish with Wenol or equivalent. Having the car garaged and under cover helps greatly. The result will not look 100% OE, but maybe that fits your budget, scope, level of your restoration better.

For place to have them polished call Astro polishing in Van Nuys or DMP (Distinctive Metal Polishing) in Canoga Park. DMP can brite don't know if Astro does.

DMP carries a good selection of Aveco trim clips and body fastners and other cool resto stuff.

They also have the largest amount of retail bolts and fastners of anyone in So Cal. Massive oddball selection. It's a cool place just to check out on a Saturday and mentally inventory. So when you do find yourself needing something oddball, you know who to call/see.
