Need some opinions on this deal,
Looking to build a real deal engine (HP-HC) for a real 62 dodge MW car and wondering what aftermarket rod and pistons would you guys consider?? I have the original standard bore pistons, but block needs boring out some and I have 395 MW rods, but I was thinking of keeping those parts a side and using aftermarket parts! Plan on driving the car on the street some and race some as well!!
What do you guys think????
Thx

I did a real1963 Dodge Dart Max Wedge street restoration motor for one of Boyd Codintons customers cars several years back, 1993-95 era, the block and most of the engine parts where worn out, I found a 413 industrial block and had it bored out to 4.25 so I could use standard bore pistons and rings, had all new seats put in the heads and so on. If I was you I would put the short block away and find a 440 block, order a decent pump gas stroker kit for a 505 or 512 C.I. 440, depending on what bore size the blocks ends up with and go from there I have learned a lot since then on those motors, no sense in taking a chance on the original parts, rebuild that stock short block later. Besides if you stamp the front engine pad with the right number for the street use who else besides you and me will know No replacement for displacement I love M.W. motors I've owned and race a bunch of them

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
