I know the 04 has disk brakes, but other than that will the rear end's interchange? Both are 2 Wheel drive and 3.55 ratio 1500's. I thought I would pose the question before breaking out the old measuring tape.

Thanks!

'04 what? Dakota? ram? van? jeep? durango?

in the dakota/durango platform, I know that from 98 to 04, the pinion yoke changed from a traditional "u-strap over the U-joint" set-up that most of us are familiar with, to a flanged yoke where the yoke on the pinion was a flat 4-bolt flange, and there was a matching flat 4-bolt flange on the end of the driveshaft, where you simply bolted the 2 together.

the rear ends were otherwise interchangeable other than the yoke, so long as you were talking about dakota to dakota or durango to durango
