I know it’s been done. But is there a practical HP limit when removing the extra metal? Combo should be in the 630-650HP area.

The crank is a Source 4.25. It has enough taper and OOR on enough journals that it would need to be turned .010” anyway. Sooooo…

What say ye?

in that power range you should be ok. the actual crank you use will most likely be "stronger" than in its standard configuration. make sure the crank grinder knows what he's doing and leaves you a good radius so there are no stress risers.

I've had several Mopar 4.150 stroke BB RB cranks turned down on the mains to B motor mains and had the rod journals offset ground from stock Mopar sizes to BB Chevy 2.200 size, one was offset ground to 4.300, three others where offset ground to 4.250 stroke, no problems yet with a lot of abuse and use on them Don't forget to get the counterweights reduced, cut down, to fit in the low deck blocks
Are your rods already 2.200 size? If not maybe a little more stroke is in order

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Already has Chevy rod journals and I’ll turn the weights down to 7.120, Cab.
